Intro to Barre

April 11 @ 5:15 pm - 6:15 pm

$20

What is a Barre class? What types of exercises do you do? What type of equipment do you use? These are just some of the questions that will be answered in this 60-minute Intro to Barre class led by Allison Gugala, previous owner of Barre District. Join us to learn what Barre is, common terminology, proper positioning, and modifications to decrease or increase the difficulty for certain moves. We will break down a full class and take it at a slower pace giving you an opportunity to get a good feel for what this popular low impact, but high intensity fitness format is all about. And great news . . . we will be adding a weekly Barre class to our schedule on Thursday nights 5:30-6:15pm beginning April 25th!

Barre is a hybrid fitness routine that utilizes movements and positions from ballet, pilates, yoga, and functional strength training with a focus on optimal alignment and posture to improve balance, coordination, stability, strength, and overall function. This low impact, high intensity, full body workout will tone and elongate muscles, increase flexibility, and strengthen you both physically and mentally. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced fitness enthusiast the class is tailored to accommodate all levels, offering modifications as needed.
