Pelvic Floor Workshop – Demystifying “Down There”

Curious about what your core and pelvic floor do? Wondering how to prevent or STOP leaking after having a baby or menopause? Why kegels aren’t always the answer? Join Dr. Monica from Moving Like A Mother Physical Therapy and Wellness for an in-depth review of the pelvic floor and learn why we need to not only strengthen, but lengthen the pelvic floor muscles. Participants will build a deeper understanding of their core canister and learn how to integrate pelvic floor movement into yoga and movement routines. These training methods are great for all women including postpartum right though to menopause and beyond. 1 in 3 women will have issues with their pelvic floor in their lifetime. Tuning into the pelvic floor and core muscle will help address common issues including:

Accidental leaking of urine

Needing to go to the toilet in a hurry, or not quite making it in time

Pain in your pelvic area

Back pain

Reduced feeling or sensation during intercourse

Accidentally passing wind

Pelvic organ prolapse

Diastasis RectiCome prepared for gentle movement and yoga poses. Workshop is part lecture/discussion and part movement work. Dr. Monica is a pelvic floor physical therapist and owner of Moving Like A Mother Physical Therapy and Wellness. Her passion is to provide pelvic floor rehabilitation to any woman wishing to improve her pelvic health. She believes in total body wellness and has helped countless women reclaim their health and enjoy life.  Movement portion of the workshop will be led by Peace Yoga owner, Diane. If you have taken this workshop before please know that new techniques will be introduced. Please bring your own mat.
