QiGong – 3 Week Series
September 16 @ 10:00 am - September 30 @ 11:00 am
$50
Are you interested in learning more about the practice of QiGong? QiGong is a traditional Chinese practice that concentrates on opening the energy pathways (meridians) in the body for optimal flow. Exercises combine breath work, movement, and meditation to help facilitate balance and wellbeing throughout a person’s entire system.
The foundation for a meaningful QiGong practice is focusing the mind, developing consistent breath work, and uniting movement with breath. Once those basics are established, individuals can learn to feel, nurture, and move their qi. In this 3-week series, participants will experience these foundational pieces through a series of exercises designed to lubricate the fascia and open the energy pathways. The group will also work on establishing proper posture and breathing, and maintaining breath and focus during techniques and transitions. This is a standing/movement QiGong, but those requiring chairs can be accommodated.
This class is perfect for the beginner and no equipment is needed. Please wear comfortable clothes and plan on being either barefoot, in
grippy socks or a separate pair of shoes other than street shoes. Drop Ins accepted at $20/class. Classes are Sept.16, 23, 30th, Drop ins are welcome at $20/class.
