Restoration and Relaxation: Yoga for a Healthy Spine and Better Sleep
January 18 @ 11:00 am
$35Unwind tension and invite deep rest in this gentle, restorative yoga class designed to release tension in the spine, calm your nervous system and prepare you for deep, restful sleep.
Spinal Release Yoga feels amazing. It is supremely healing and transforms your mind and body from the inside out. This is a yoga of positioning the body into supported positions with props and lying down for stillness, letting go, and deep release of tensions. It will support a more restful, comfortable, deep sleep.
It looks like restorative yoga, but it’s much more. The meticulous alignments of the positions decompress your spine from the root to the top through the tailbone area, sacrum, psoas and ribcage, releasing many deeply embedded muscle tensions and holding patterns.
It is accessible, inclusive for any body regardless of experience level and at the same time advanced, perfect for those who are sleep deprived and tense.
Class led by Lauren Ziegler, a sleep coach and C-IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists) bringing a unique blend of expertise in sleep yoga, psychology and mindfulness for sleep. Lauren is all about helping you to relax, let go, to be at peace and get deep, fulfilling sleep. She specializes in a unique form of restorative yoga called Supreme Release Yoga.
She works as a sleep coach for a primary care medical practice as well as a psychiatric clinic and sleep medicine center in the Bay Area, California, facilitating clinical treatments for sleep disorders.
