Yoga Nidra

Join us for an evening of Yoga Nidra – an incredibly powerful meditation technique that leaves the practitioner fully rested. Are you looking for a way to alleviate stress, get better sleep and learn a little more about yourself? Yoga Nidra is an easily accessible practice that offers all of these benefits. We will begin with a few restorative poses to prepare the body for the stillness of the posture of Yoga Nidra – Shavasana. The practice follows a framework of steps to allow the body to completely relax while guided by the voice of the teacher. This practice slows the wavelengths of the brain as you reach a state of consciousness between sleeping and waking. Yoga nidra, also known as dynamic sleep, prompts the body to relax deeply while the mind remains inwardly alert. One 30-minute practice of yoga nidra equals approximately two hours of deep sleep.
